The East of England holds a scientific heritage which is largely the responsibility of Cambridge University. It was here that the structure of DNA was discovered and the University today boasts an impressive collection of museums, including the Fitzwilliam Musuem.
Close to Cambridge, the Newmarket National Museum of Horseracing displays an impressive permanent exhibition while towards the East, the coastal trail leads through into Norfolk towards Norwich’s 12th century Cathedral.
